Terms of use
These are the terms you agree to by using banker.tools. They are short on purpose. If you do not agree with them, do not use the site.
What this site is
banker.tools reads public data from a blockchain and shows it to you. It also lets you sign a standing instruction, from your own wallet, to buy a branch at or below a price you choose. That is the whole product.
We are independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for Standard Reserve or any other protocol, exchange, wallet or token issuer named on this site. We do not operate the contracts the figures come from and we cannot change how they behave.
What this site is not
Nothing here is financial, investment, legal, tax or accounting advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. We do not know your circumstances and we are not advising you. If you need advice, get it from someone qualified to give it.
We are not a broker, a dealer, an exchange, a custodian or a money transmitter. We never take custody of your assets. We never hold, request or have access to your private keys or your recovery phrase. Anyone who asks you for either is stealing from you, and that includes anyone claiming to be us.
Who may use it
You may use banker.tools if you are old enough to enter a contract where you live, you are using it for yourself and not on someone else's behalf, and using it does not break any law or rule that applies to you. Working out whether it does is your job, not ours. Rules about digital assets differ enormously from place to place and we make no claim that this site or anything it interacts with is lawful or available where you are.
If any law that applies to you prohibits what this site does, you must not use it.
The numbers
Every figure on this site is read from a public blockchain or a public price source and then interpreted by our code. Both steps can fail. Figures may be stale, incomplete, mislabelled or simply wrong, and anything described as a projection, an estimate or a payback period is an assumption about the future rather than a forecast of it.
Verify anything that matters against the chain itself before you act on it. We tell you which contracts we read so that you can. If what we show disagrees with the chain, the chain is right and we are wrong.
Limit orders
When you arm a limit order you sign a permission in your own wallet. The permission is narrow by design: one kind of call, to one contract, at a price ceiling you set, before a deadline you set. It is held and enforced by public contracts, not by us, and we cannot widen it after the fact. You can cancel it, and it expires on its own whether anyone is watching or not.
We do not promise that an order will be filled. An auction may never reach your price, it may sell out first, the network may be congested, our software may be down, or the transaction may fail for reasons no one controls. A fee is payable only if an order actually buys something. You keep responsibility for the order you signed and for having whatever the purchase costs available in your account.
The documentation sets out what an order can and cannot do in detail, and how to check each claim yourself. Read it before you arm one.
What you are responsible for
- Your wallet, your keys and every transaction you sign.
- Checking, before you sign, what you are signing and what it permits.
- Your own tax position, and any reporting obligation that comes with it.
- Deciding whether any of this is suitable for you, and bearing the loss if it is not.
Things you must not do
- Use the site to break the law, to launder money, to evade sanctions, or to defraud anyone.
- Attack the site or the infrastructure behind it: overwhelming it with automated requests, probing it for weaknesses without permission, or interfering with anyone else's use of it.
- Scrape it at a rate that degrades it for other people. The chain is public and you are welcome to read it directly.
- Present the site, or anything from it, as your own or as endorsed by us.
Availability and changes
The site is provided as it is, when it happens to be up. We do not promise it will be available, accurate, uninterrupted, or that it will keep working the way it does today. We may change it, restrict it, or take it down at any time, without notice, including features you are relying on.
If the site goes away, orders you have already signed remain enforced by the public contracts holding them, and remain cancellable by you through those contracts. Nothing we do can take that from you.
Other people's services
This site links to and depends on things we do not run: blockchain networks, node providers, wallets, block explorers, price sources and the protocol contracts themselves. We are not responsible for them, for what they do, or for what they cost. Your use of them is governed by their terms, not ours.
No warranty
To the fullest extent the law allows, the site is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranties of any kind, express or implied. We specifically make no warranty that the information is accurate, current or complete, that the site is fit for any particular purpose, or that it is free of errors, defects or harmful components.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss you suffer through using this site or relying on anything it shows you. That includes trading losses, lost profits, lost opportunity, lost or inaccessible assets, the cost of failed or unwanted transactions, gas spent, and any indirect or consequential loss, whether or not we were told such loss was possible.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing in them takes away a right you have under consumer law that cannot be signed away.
Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of how you used this site, or because you broke these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page says when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new version, so it is worth looking at the date if it has been a while.
Getting in touch
There is no support desk behind this site. Questions about these terms go to @el1gma, which is a public channel, so do not send anything private to it and never send anyone a private key or a recovery phrase.
